The Kingscliff Ratepayers and Progress Association Inc. – under various Association titles - has been an effective part of the Kingscliff and surrounding communities since 1933.
The primary purpose of the Association is to actively provide information by way of research, submissions, public meetings/workshops and the like. This purpose provides the Association with a recognised avenue to participate in discussion and decision making at any level of Government relating to the promotion of good social, economic and environmental outcomes and policies for the Kingscliff District and adjacent areas.
Our primary purpose is achieved by:
Being independent, non-party political and non-sectarian whilst allowing for different views and concerns to be raised. This will not preclude joint action with one or more similar active Incorporated Associations, either within or outside of the Kingscliff District, on issues with shire-wide relevance, for example ‘Meet the Candidates’ Night.
Receiving and responding to matters pertaining to ratepayers and residents in the Kingscliff District and adjacent areas as resolved by the members.
Actively promoting the interests of the Kingscliff District and adjacent areas to Local, State and Federal Government and their agencies.
Promoting actions and discussions designed to foster a sense of community and further promote an awareness of the legacy our present actions can leave for future generations in the Kingscliff District and adjacent areas. Further, to enhance amenity for ratepayers, residents, businesses and their employees and visitors to the area.
Taking other legitimate steps as are deemed necessary to achieve these objects.
Practising and upholding the principles of good governance on all matters.
Yearly Plan
In 2019, KRPA undertook a series of planning activities which allowed all members to identify priorities for the Association. These initial priorities formed the founding basis of a rolling plan that is updated periodically.
This process identified three key areas which would provide a focus for KRPA activities.
These key areas are:
